This holiday home is located on the island of Solta off the coast of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea.
In adherence to local heritage guidelines governing design and construction on the island, local vernacular architecture is reinterpreted to create a modern home with a classic feel. The home is clad in white limestone sourced from the neighbouring island of Brac, with earth coloured random stone used for the foundation and perimeter walls.
The home’s elongated shape maximises access to southern light which is advantageous in the northern hemisphere. The south facing terrace looks out to grape vines olive and fruit trees, with vistas of the nearby village.
